AWESOME HIP TECHNIQUES

LIVE In-Person CE Class

Who doesn't love hip and glute work?  Pretty much every client wants you to spend time in this area.  Because it can feel SO GOOD!

The thing is, working in this area can be tiring if you don't use your own body well.

Cat wants to show you simple and highly effective techniques that are easy on your own body while you're helping your clients.  Students will learn how to position the client well (prone, supine, AND side lying) and how to sink slowly deeper into the tissues without straining your hands, arms, and shoulders.  You will leave this training with confidence in your ability to help your clients have an awesome massage experience while also taking care of your own self.

What you'll get in an "Awesome Massage" class...

  • Super smooth strokes to hydrate the tissues, which means the muscles let go more easily and you work smarter, not harder.
  • Deep compression/long steady hold techniques, which means the nervous system calms down and the client feels greater relaxation.
  • Positioning and propping the client well, which means you can use your body weight more effectively.
  • How to use your body weight effectively over the table, which means you will hurt less and be able to do massage work as long as you want, not just until your body gives out.
  • How to use your knuckles, elbows, forearms, and in some instances even your knees, shins, and feet (!) which means you save our hands and wrists for the long haul.
  • Attention to key trigger points in the area that are important to know how to treat.
  • Draping techniques so the client feels safe, which means that they can relax more deeply and your work is more effective.
  • Long glides that run the full length of the muscles and muscle groups, which means all the tissues in the area are ready for more specific work should you choose.
  • Encouragement to play, explore, FEEL what’s going on for your client and follow their tensional lines, which means your work will be more engaged and effective.
  • Palpation skills which feel incredible to your clients, which means you keep track of where you are and they just feel, well, awesome!

About The "Awesome" Series

Each class = 7 CEs  NCBTMB

In each of the Awesome Massage Techniques workshops, you will learn time-tested skills from a well-loved veteran massage therapist.  Cat has been a bodyworker for nearly 30 years and has worked with tens of thousands of humans over her career.  Considered a master massage therapist, Cat is known as an effective trigger point therapist who helps people get out of pain.  And what SHE knows about THAT is that you have to have a whole lot of good-feeling, soothing, awesome techniques to blend with the trigger point work or your client will leave feeling sore and unhappy.  She is now offering you the opportunity to learn valuable strokes that will go along with any type of massage work that you are currently doing.  Consider it an upgrade to your toolbox.  These are super skills any massage therapist can put into practice, and your clients will love.  One of Cat’s most popular offerings is called “Ridiculously Awesome Massage” for a reason.

Every Awesome workshop includes Cat’s signature anatomy discussions, some self care practices for YOU, and access to a video summary of the techniques, which means you can refresh your memory when you need some inspiration in your practice.
