About this series...

This series is perfect for anyone experiencing neck or shoulder tension and dysfunction or anyone wanting to learn skills to keep this area moving freely without pain.

Here's the kind of pain and dysfunction we will be addressing:

loss of range of motion of the neck and shoulders

tension headaches

shoulder ache or pain

weakness in the shoulders

deep ache at the base of the back of the neck

aching at the base of the skull

ache that runs up the back of the neck

shoulder pain with movement

numbness in the arms

and more!

In all of the FreeBody Therapeutics series with Cat, students are taught breathing practices scientifically proven to reduce stress and tension in the nervous system, creating more calm and ease through the whole Self.  Once the nervous system is softened, Cat will guide you through some simple movement to open the joints and tissues of the focus area.  After the tissues are warmed, we use a variety of therapeutic balls and perhaps foam rollers, mostly RAD tools, to free the connective tissues and release tension in the muscles.  Cat is a Trigger Point Therapist and has worked with tens of thousands of clients and students.  One of her specialties is knowing where in the muscles tension tends to gather and what symptoms those tense knots cause.  With this in mind, we can target the places that are specifically causing your pain or restriction.

Simple yogic based stretching is guided after the therapeutic rolling (Self Myofascial/ Self Trigger Point Release) to help retrain the tissues to adjust to their new, longer and freer state.

Class ends in savasana which may include short guided meditations and

Cat playing her harmonium and singing to you.

In this Self Care for Neck and Shoulders series, students will learn how to effectively strengthen, release, and stretch the following muscles:

pectorals in the chest, sterno-cleido-mastoid, the scalenes, levator scapulae, trapezius, rotator cuff, rhomboids, latissimus, teres major

Online Classes Streamed LIVE on Thursdays

These self care classes are being offered online for you to be able to do from your home with your computer and an internet connection. Nothing is prerecorded. They are happening in real time and are totally interactive. You are able to ask questions using the chat feature within the virtual classroom.

When you register for the series, you will be asked to take a short survey and explain the pain or discomfort you are experiencing so I make sure everyone's issues get addressed over the series.  You will also receive an email outlining the tools we will use during the series and how to purchase them.  You can look over what you have - yoga block? therapy balls?  foam roller? - and compare to the list and just purchase what you need.  You could spend anywhere from $0-$100 depending on what you already have on hand.  If you have no tools yet, I promise you will not regret for a second buying them!  They will serve you for the rest of your life in feeling well in your body!
