Pregnancy is not for wimps. It amplifies imbalances in the hips and lower back, a common cause of complaint in pregnancy. That pain can take over what is supposed to be a "magical time" in a woman's life, leaving her exhausted, frustrated, and stuck. She doesn't want a wimpy "feel nice" massage, she wants and NEEDS you to get in there and make things better.

This 2-day training equips massage therapists with practical skills to treat pregnancy-related hip and lower back pain with confidence and precision.

HELPING YOU BE

THE BEST YOU CAN BE

My teaching is not simply showing you anatomy pictures and then demonstrating technique.

I am PASSIONATE about massage and the incredible gift that bodywork offers.

My goal is for you to gain a deeper understanding of the area we are studying, and to have immediately applicable techniques, based on that understanding, that you implement right away.

I hope to inspire you to get more curious about the body

and the interplay of the body, mind, and heart.

My goal is that you leave this training feeling EMPOWERED and SUPPORTED.

Here's a glimpse at what you'll be getting in the LIVE version of

Therapeutic Prenatal Massage for the Hips and Lower Back

ANATOMY

Learn key anatomy of the hips, pelvis, and lower back, and the specific strains that pregnancy places on these areas. We will explore tensional systems and imbalances in them.

POSITIONS

Students will learn how to appropriately set up and drape their client in side lying and supine positions.  Props will be explained and demonstrated.

SYMPTOMS

Students will learn the pain referral patterns of key trigger points which lead to deep aching in the hips, sacrum, SI joint, and lower back as a result of changes in pregnancy.

DEMONSTRATION

In the demos you will receive very clear location and effective release techniques of those key trigger points. I work right along with you, at every table, throughout the training.

About Therapeutic Prenatal Massage for Hips and Low Back

14 CEs  NCBTMB

This immersive 2-day training is designed for massage therapists who want to confidently and skillfully support pregnant clients experiencing hip and lower back pain. You’ll explore the functional anatomy of pregnancy as it relates specifically to the pelvis, hips, lumbar spine, and surrounding soft tissue. We’ll examine how postural adaptations, ligamentous changes, and shifting load patterns influence common pain presentations — including sacroiliac discomfort, lateral hip pain, and lumbar strain — so you can assess and treat with greater precision and clinical clarity.

A central focus of the training is understanding myofascial and trigger point contributions to prenatal pain patterns. You’ll learn to identify common trigger points involved in pregnancy-related hip and lower back discomfort, understand their referral patterns, and apply safe, effective release techniques appropriate for the pregnant body. Emphasis is placed on therapeutic depth, positioning, pressure modification, and nervous system sensitivity so you can work both effectively and respectfully within prenatal considerations. Every single prenatal client tells me how grateful she is that I didn't just give her a boring, light Swedish massage. Often they cry with relief and gratitude.

Through demonstration and guided practice, you’ll leave with practical treatment strategies you can immediately integrate into your sessions. This training will expand your assessment skills, refine your palpation, and deepen your ability to provide targeted, results-oriented care for pregnant clients seeking relief from hip and lower back pain.
