THERAPEUTIC PRENATAL MASSAGE TRAINING

Fri-Sun, October 11-13, 21 CEs $395

Pregnancy is not for wimps and prenatal massage shouldn't be wimpy.  Pregnancy can cause a host of issues in mama's back, hips, and shoulders as her body changes.  Learn really effective ways of working with pregnant women to address these issues.

HELPING YOU BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE

MY TEACHING IS NOT SIMPLY SHOWING YOU ANATOMY PICTURES AND THEN DEMONSTRATING TECHNIQUE.

MY GOAL FOR YOU IS TO REALLY GAIN DEEP UNDERSTANDING ABOUT THE MUSCLES YOU ARE WORKING WITH, HOW THEY DEVELOP TENSION AND CAUSE YOUR CLIENTS' PAIN, AND HOW TO EFFECTIVELY RELEASE THAT TENSION TO CREATE GREATER EASE IN YOUR CLIENTS.

Here's a glimpse at what you'll be getting in the LIVE version of

Therapeutic Prenatal Massage

ANATOMY

In the PowerPoint portion of the training, I teach you about various changes to mama's body as she goes through the miracle of creating a human.  Learn about hormones that cause instability, effects on the lumbar spine, and more!

POSITIONS

Students will learn how to appropriately set up and drape their client in side lying and supine positions.  Props will be explained and demonstrated.

SYMPTOMS

Students will learn the pain referral patterns of the hip and back muscles, tensions arising from growing breasts, and other common symptoms of pregnancy related aches and pains.

DEMONSTRATION

I will demonstrate to you how to guide mama in simple breathing to help her to relax more deeply and receive the treatment.  I will show you where to work to help the hips, low back, and how you can work around and a little bit inside the pelvis to alleviate a host of pregnancy related symptoms.

About Therapeutic Prenatal Massage

Fri - Sun, October 11-13, 2019

10am-6pm each day

In this full weekend training I will use powerpoint presentations to discuss the anatomical changes to a pregnant woman's body relative to our massage work and the common symptoms that growing mamas will often have.  We will discuss hormonal changes and how pregnancy hormones can act to destabilize the pelvis, causing a host of issues in the hips and low back, even the knees.

I have worked with pregnant clients and yoga students for over 20 years and have been told many times how much the mamas appreciate that I don't give wimpy pregnancy massage.  For some reason, many therapists have the idea that you should not work specifically or deeply in a pregnant woman's body.  However, my experience tells me differently.  Pregnancy is a time when old dysfunctional tensional patterns tend to show up again, sometimes after years of dormancy.  Pregnancy can be a time when mama has debilitating painful hip and low back pain, shoulder pain, and more discomfort.  I will explain why that is and ways that you can work with your pregnant clients to help them feel the best they can during this special time.

Students will learn a full body treatment which includes working with your clients supine and side lying.  I will demonstrate how to support your clients well with props in each of these positions for safety and comfort.  Mamas can't lie flat on their backs when face up, and when side lying their top leg has to be supported enough to alleviate pain in the hip.  Students will clearly understand how to support their pregnant clients for this treatment.

Are you ready to begin offering profound work for your pregnant clients?  Are you wanting to hone your skills to help mamas feel excellent during this sacred journey to motherhood?  If yes, I'm ready to help you.  Register below now.
